The Hurd Family College Tour: Texas Edition

This project is dedicated to exposing 10–15 young men and women to the power, pride, and possibilities of higher education through an immersive college tour experience. By visiting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and top-tier institutions in Texas, participants will gain firsthand insight into college life, academic excellence, and campus culture. This year’s trip will feature schools including Prairie View A&M University, Texas A&M University, Texas Southern University, Rice University, and Baylor University. Students will tour campuses, engage with current college students, experience dorm life and classrooms, and envision themselves thriving in a college environment. Many young people never get the opportunity to physically step onto a college campus—especially an HBCU. This experience is designed to inspire confidence, expand horizons, and help students see higher education as an attainable and exciting future. Your donation directly supports transportation, lodging, meals, campus tours, and educational programming for these students.
